Thank you to everyone that responded to our OS/400 survey on your current OS version and plans to upgrade. I received a great response from this (over 600 responses) and this gives us great feedback for future development initiatives. To give you a quick recap, of the ACOM customers that have responded to date....
Roughly 46% indicated that their i5/OS version is V5R3 or higher.
Less than .02% indicated that their i5/OS version is less than V5R1.
36% of respondants said they plan to upgrade to V5R4 in 2008
35% have plans to upgrade to V6R1 either in 2008 or 2009, obviously with a few caveats (waiting for "bugs" to be out and corrected in V6R1, waiting to order new System i boxes, etc.)
I hope this information is as helpful to you as it is to us, to see where you fit in this sampling of our existing customers. It's encouraging to know that the majority of customers are keeping up with IBM and new releases.
Currently we support V5R1 and higher releases, and incase you've missed any of our announcements, V6R1 has been tested with our software and you should not encounter any issues upgrading to that version of the i5/OS.
