EZeDocs/400 is a document output system that intelligently merges data from your current applications with your own form designs to deliver laser quality invoices, purchase orders, reports, forms and other business documents directly to a laser printer, fax output or email system.

EZeDocs/400 prints all types of common business forms: invoices, statements, quotes, purchase orders, labels, etc. These forms can include many elements such as barcodes, signatures, logos, graphics, multi-part forms, etc.

EZeDocs/400 is also well suited to producing form letters, capable of placing variable data within paragraphs and even using input data to define which paragraph to print. In this way, EZeDocs/400 can print variations on the same theme, or completely different themes, in letters produced in batch runs, quickly and efficiently.

The process begins with EZDesigner/400, the document design tool for EZeDocs/400. EZDesigner/400 allows professional-looking documents to be formatted and designed in a feature-rich GUI interface, much like those which are found in many of today’s word processing packages. Use color, frames, images, barcodes and many other graphic elements to create an individual-looking document with complete font, size and position freedom.

Once the template is created, the forms are uploaded to the iSeries and stored in the ACOM library, eliminating the need for a dedicated form server PC. Switching between the new and existing delivery and printing methods takes only a few keystrokes and can be done instantly.

EZeDocs/400 can output documents a number of different ways – including print, email, fax, electronic archive, and electronic output (i.e. PDF, TIFF). Templates can be set up to merge with ERP data that run seamless and transparently to the end user. The merges can be set up to run on a per document basis, dynamically and automatically – making delivery of documents even easier!

EZDesigner/400, the design component of EZeDocs/400, operates on Microsoft’s Windows operating system. EZeDocs/400 runs on the iSeries (AS/400) platform.

Printing your forms on plain paper offers many economies. EZeDocs/400 removes the hassles associated with manual preprinted form loading, separation and handling. Instead, a variety of forms can be selectively printed, faxed, or emailed as the demand arises. Changes to forms such as addresses, phone numbers, personnel, and logos are easily and instantaneously updated without interruption to the system.

Yes. EZeDocs/400 is able to create the template, position the data, and then send the formatted document using native iSeries email and fax modules.

No. With EZeDocs/400 you can selectively determine the delivery of each separate document. In fact for any given print run you may print, fax or email output, or use any combination of these. This means that you could deliver an email only to those customers able to receive them and print the rest to be posted later, all without altering your original report.

EZeDocs/400 produces an ASCII spool file that prints to any PCL5, PCL5e, or PCL5c compatible laser printer. GL2 commands are utilized for such commands as rounded corner boxes, shaded and grid boxes, etc. A separate PDF module can be used to convert documents to text searchable PDF’s ouput to either the IFS, QDLS or a data file.

Any printer capable of recognizing PCL5 commands will work with EZeDocs/400. Most modern laser printers have this ability. Check with your printer supplier for information about PCL compatibility.

YES! EZeDocs/400 allows full-color printing and emailing. Using EZeDocs/400 you can print full-color documents or email full-color PDFs.
