For ACOM customers who use EZPayManager or EZCheck:

How .Net 3.0 affects EZCheck and EZPayManager printing

We've discovered there are printing issues that impacts the operating system's printer drivers after updating to Microsoft's .NET Framework Version 3.0.

If your IT Dept upgrades to .Net 3.0, you will encounter printing issues from EZCheck and/or EZPM such as blank pages between your documents and/or multiple documents on one page.

To resolve these issues, we have created instrutions & provided more details which you can provide to your IT staff in order to restore the workable components should you encounter such an incident after upgrading to .Net 3.0. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please contact support@acom.com.

Please provide your “IT” staff with the following:

We've determined that Microsoft's printer driver (version 6.0.x for Windows Vista - .NET 3.0) non-localized DLLs are introduced in localized DLLs on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and print servers. This has caused unexpected issues on many PCL printer drivers such as multi-page documents on one sheet and/or blank sheets between documents. There is no patch from Microsoft to resolve this issue and simply uninstalling the update won't undo the changes already made; however, there is a work-around in order to restore the working printer drivers components.

Please follow the instructions below in order to restore printer drivers components:

NOTE: Files needed in step three below will be provided by ACOM. Please send your request to support@acom.com and ask for the .NET 3.0 fix files.

Instructions:

  1. Close all applications.
  2. Backup the following components: unidrv.dll and unidrvui.dll located in “C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3”
  3. Copy/replace (with files obtained from ACOM) the two components located in the following path “C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3”
  4. Go into the “HP LaserJet IIIsi” printers properties>”Advanced” tab> Uncheck “Advanced printing features”> 'Click' "Apply" / "OK".
  5. Reboot machine.
  6. Upon logging in please confirm that the files replaced have a modified date with the year 2003.
  7. Log in and run a small test with two or more checks from the software. For more details, you can review Microsoft’s message boards regarding this problem.
